A Little Bit of France in Florence
One of my favorite things about Firenze is that there is always something new to see and do, and today was no exception. During my day off spent wandering around the city (shamelessly scouting photo locations), I stumbled upon La Belle Epoque Market in the piazza Santissima Annunziata. The piazza will be filled with a number of little stands from September 18th to the 27th from 9 am until 11 pm if you are interested in mixing a little French flair into your Italian routine.
The piazza was quite crowded but it was charming to see little French details in the center of Florence.
A friend and I stopped to enjoy glasses of champagne as we took in the sights, sounds, and delicious smells of the market.
In the market there were many different stands, selling a variety of goods such as scarves, spices, pastries, french cuisine, cheeses, and more. I love shopping in Florence, but it was nice seeing a greater variety of goods offered. If you are looking to pick up some gifts for friends, or just craving something sweet, you won’t want to miss this market!
After wandering the market and debating which of the many delicious French pastries to snack on, I opted for some delicious macaroons. The prices weren’t too bad, and I was able to get 4 for 5 Euro. I sampled the strawberry, coffee, raspberry, and white chocolate, flavors, but my absolute favorite was the white chocolate, it was heavenly. I will definitely be returning in the next few days to grab more.
If you have time definitely check the market out so you, too, can experience a little bit of France during your stay in Italy!
