13 Florence Bars You Haven’t Heard Of (But Should!)
If you’ve been in Florence for at least a week, you’ve probably been up to some kind of shenanigans at one or more of the well-known bars, Lion’s Fountain, Uncle Jimmy’s, Red Garter, etc. (if you haven’t, then go, like right now). These places are popular for good reason and I frequent them often, however there are many other bars in Florence worth visiting. Whether you’re looking to only grab a beer, or looking for a new place to get slammed, trolly-eyed, ploughed, away with the fairies, whatever you want to call it; here are some of my favorite Florence bars you probably haven’t heard of, but should:
1. BrewDog Firenze

Any bar with a mural of a giant octopus strangling the Duomo, can gladly take my money.
Location: Via Faenza 21R
2. Volume
Hipster vibes, unique atmosphere, antique furniture – if you’re into it, make sure to grab a drink here.
Location: Piazza Santo Spirito 5R
3. One Eyed Jack

The closest thing you’ll get to a “biker bar” in Florence.
Location: Piazza Nazario Sauro 2R
4. The Friends Pub

Great place to make new “friends”.
Location: Borgo San Iacopo 51R
5. Tartan Jock Scottish Pub
A locals hangout, perfect for watching sports games. They also have delicious burgers.
Location: Corso dei Tintori 41R
6. Dublin Pub

Nice little Irish pub that has live music a few nights of the week!
Location: Via Faenza 27R
7. Monkey Bar
One of my favorite dive bars in Florence.
Location: Via Della Mattonaia 20R
8. The Book Pub

Like to read books and drink beers? Why not try doing both at the same time?
Location: Piazza Lorenzo Ghiberti 11R
9. Kikuya
Beware of the Dragoon, you heard it here first.
Location: Via Dei Benci 43R
10. The William

Usually on the itinerary for my weekly “Man Night”. Pool, darts, and great food.
Location: Via Magliabechi 7-11R
11. Eby’s Bar

They call Eby the “Einstein of Shots” for good reason, he has turned his shot-crafting abilities into a true science, and well, he looks like Albert Einstein.
Location: Via Dell’ Oriuolo 5R
12. Santamando Caffe
A cafe by day and a bar by night. Santamando Caffe has great shot deals and is one of the few bars in Florence where you can get absinthe.
Location: Via Ghibellina 150R
13. Il Vinile

Pop art on the walls, glass tables with vinyls underneath, both a cafe and a bar. If you’re into music or looking for something different from the average bar, make sure to grab a drink at Il Vinile.
Location: Via Dante Alighieri 10R
How many of these bars can you check off your list? Let me know in the comments!
